The McDonald family and co.

It takes some organizing getting everyone together sometimes, especially when everyone has jobs, school, LIFE to navigate. The studio can take a large group, and this was a pretty large group.

A Sigh of Relief

That’s me finished my HND year. It’s been a busy one and at times, it’s fair to say, why I have been a bit grumpy. That aside, it’s a great feeling to finish. I am now caught up on sleep, housework, LAUNDRY … oh, and finally replaced my out-of date tax disc.  (Oops – everything gets done in its own time!!)

There were a few photos taken this year that I quite like:

Once I started going through my images from this year, it turns out that these are the tip of what I’ve done. Never mind, there are a few for you to have a look at anyway.

Have a great week everyone – I’ll be in touch soon.

Writing

I have this little book called “29 Mini-Essays” by Joe Brainard. By little I mean it’s about thirty pages of single two line observations. It was originally released in the sixties or early seventies and was (in my opinion) ahead of it’s time, as it’s not dissimilar to a tweet or facebook post – but without all of that irritating angst. It is a short, but entertaining read that I strongly recommend.

I chose to write out this observation of Brainard’s from his book because I remember reading it and thinking that I wanted to be that woman.

Somewhere You Sat

Cat

I confess to being sat around all day watching the Olympics. It was such a great day for “Team GB” that it was hard to stray from the screen very often. When I did though, the cat was quick to get comfortable where I had been sitting.

August Photo a Day – Day Three

I’ll level with you all. I would have loved to have had the time to go to a fountain somewhere and maybe do something a bit more creative with a coin, however it has been a very busy day so I apologise. On the up side it’s Friday – we all made it. Have a great weekend everyone!!

The Introduction

I am Leslie – a girl who has a boys name. I am a married mum who decided that once my children were old enough, I would evolve my hobby into a full time career as a photographer. Now that my eldest is in the academy and the rest in the “big end” I decided that it was time and enrolled myself in Aberdeen College taking HND Photography. To date my first year has successfully been completed and I will continue my education as well as to explore and develop in the field. My favourite images to capture are portraits and weddings. It is a privilege for me to provide my clients with these keep sakes and I do not take this responsibility lightly.

If you have anything in mind that you would like to discuss, for example: children’s photos (we’ll try and get outside and do something a little different when we can) or announcements such as birth announcements, bump and baby photos, before and after pregnancy (one with bump, one with baby) or engagement please get in touch so we can discuss ideas. Don’t worry, I can offer some if you don’t know where to start.

I would like to set myself the goal of not leaving an update any longer than two weeks, so check back and see what I’ve been up to. I have plenty going on, and invite you to be nosey. This website is newly up and running, so it will need tweaks and additional images added which I will in due course so please be patient.
