I have this little book called “29 Mini-Essays” by Joe Brainard. By little I mean it’s about thirty pages of single two line observations. It was originally released in the sixties or early seventies and was (in my opinion) ahead of it’s time, as it’s not dissimilar to a tweet or facebook post – but without all of that irritating angst. It is a short, but entertaining read that I strongly recommend.

I chose to write out this observation of Brainard’s from his book because I remember reading it and thinking that I wanted to be that woman.

Somewhere You Sat

Cat

I confess to being sat around all day watching the Olympics. It was such a great day for “Team GB” that it was hard to stray from the screen very often. When I did though, the cat was quick to get comfortable where I had been sitting.

I’ll level with you all. I would have loved to have had the time to go to a fountain somewhere and maybe do something a bit more creative with a coin, however it has been a very busy day so I apologise. On the up side it’s Friday – we all made it. Have a great weekend everyone!!

Thing One does NOT fit into this shirt anymore, but was a good enough sport to let me take this as long as I made it quick… blue hair would really have pushed my luck!! He’s not so little anymore and doesn’t do the opposite of what you say, he is really growing up.

August Photo A Day- Day One

I had to go into Aberdeen today and thought I should have my camera on me just in case anything outside caught my eye. After a quick lunch we had to make an unscheduled stop at the Toyota dealership because the car alarm malfunctioned and managed to continue screaming out while the car was being DRIVEN!! After everything was fixed, I decided to take the boys to the beach for a quick run around. It was like letting puppies out after hours of waiting (oh – and they got trapped in the car while the alarm was going because not even the key in the door would work) so they deserved the break. I snapped this then, but at that point it was after 6pm. I am looking forward to a nice, boring Thursday.
